Just 20kms from Derby on the Gibb River Road Birdwood Downs offers a shady bush style campground for tents, campervans, camper trailers and caravans. The campground is accessible for 2WD vehicles.

There are also simple and comfortable huts with double beds.

The Station is open for camping and accommodation from 1 April until 30 September.

You are welcome to arrive without booking but we advise to book during the peak season (June-July-August).

We provide caravan and trailer storage for those who want to visit the gorges along the Gibb River Road but do not want to take the caravan on that adventure.

The storage location is unpowered.

Our bush style campground has lots of space with roomy sites and beautiful established trees giving lots of shade. We have shared bathroom facilities, lots of hot water, washing machines and a camp kitchen with bbq for you to use. Also excellent drinking water.  We have a few power outlets available if you need to charge your appliances.

All our sites are unpowered but generators are allowed in daylight hours.

Pets are welcome provided they are on a lead.

The station has a number of Savannah huts available that provide a comfortable stay for one or more days in the gardens of the homestead area.

The huts are freestanding single rooms with a double bed and shared amenities.

They all have a small fridge and facilities to make coffee and tea.

You can prepare a simple meal in the camp kitchen.
